Glittered Sole

Note: I posted this waaay back in October but am still so in love with these glittered dahlings. They are still on sale (well the gold ones are) so if you've been looking for a great Louboutin look alike, keep reading!

I can't help but to stare at these Christian Louboutin glittered platform pumps. These shoes would be PERFECT for the upcoming holiday season. With the hefty price tag of $775, I have to just add this to the wishlist. How pretty?! And, they come in blue and red! I'm officially drooling.

However, with a tad bit of web search, I did come across these gold glittered pumps that are under $50. Hmmm....to order or not to order? That is the question.

Another side note: my BFF Beyonce' Knowles had these glittery dahlings on for her I Am Yours concert. Did you see them? So Gorg.

Bee-utiful Blog

I stayed up till the wee hours of the morning on New Years to see if I could take a jab at designing my own blog background for The Fab Hive and...look...I did it! It is my first DIY blog design attempt and I am pretty happy with it for now. What do you think?! Not too bad for a first timer, huh?

And, the cost for a custom blog design...FREE?! Now...that's fabu-less!

Happy Monday!

Good(will) Finds!

I have been off of work for a week and have one more week to go before heading back to the ever so exciting day job. This morning, I decided to go out to my local Goodwill store to see what was available.

I hope that you're not saying, "What?!, the Goodwill?!" Well, yes! I am on a journey to loving my home but on a budget and I have been a Goodwill fan for quite sometime. I am quite creative so to browse the aisles to uncover some fab potential in an item that someone thought was useless is...well...exciting to me. It's almost impossible to buy something from the Goodwill or Thrift store and keep it as you bought it. It is meant for you to embellish, refurbish, recreate, and restore.

Okay. Okay. On to my basket.

I only had about an hour to grab and pay because the hubs was watching the kids while on his lunch break. I found:
  • 2 picture frames for $.75 ea. (which I will either keep the same or paint another color),
  • red candlestick, $1 (great for Valentine's Day decor),
  • 2 glass vases for $1 ea. (to be filled with some goodies),
  • 3 ink cartridges for $2 ea. (spanking brand new and fit one of my printers exactly..and these were the XL cartridges that gives allows more printing) This was by far my greatest find today.
  • 2 silver wire-y things that will probably be painted black and used for office supplies like pens, highlighters, you know, they were $.50 ea.
  • 5" yellow ribbon, $1
  • a little rabbit that I broke trying to get to some of my finds, $.50
  • a wooden paper tray that I will probably paint and embellish for my office, $1
All for under $20. I can't wait to destress at the Goodwill probably next week (or this weekend) to see what else I can find. Do you shop second hand for your decor/creative needs?

A Tad Bit More...

about me! I am married to the most supportive husband, Hub-Bee and have been for 6 years now. Together we have a beautiful little girl, Princess Bee (4 yrs) and when we married I inherited the cutest and sweetest son, Boy Bee. (13 yrs).

I work full time at a local high school (not a teacher) and also own an up and coming event planning boutique, Pink Tea Rose Events in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. I long to work full time at my event planning company and planning on doing so very near in the future. In addition to being a wife, mother, full time employee, and entrepreneur, I am also very active in our church. Hub-Bee is the Youth Minister and we get to spend time with some of the most energetic teens that always puts a smile on our faces.

Now, that we have 2 kids at home and we both have VERY busy professional lives outside of home I am on a journey to making our home the true safe haven to enjoy life, all on a frugal budget. It's hard. It's loud. I sometimes want to run away. But, then I know if I did my family would call me on my cell phone asking me to pick up something for dinner. What will you have it--I'd be back at home. So, instead of trying to run away--I'm blogging.

I'll blog about my fab frugal finds, crafts, inspirations, random thoughts, my organization do hickys, and who knows what else. As we get acquainted, you'll soon find out that I love lists and all things crafts, parties, and weddings. I'll try not to turn this blog into a planning/wedding blog ( I have one of those already). But hopefully, there will be something that you too can get from my blog. If you are a mommy blogger, please leave a comment so that I can find you.

Happy New Year, Queenies!

Hi, my name is Tish Bullard and I welcome you to The Fab Hive, home of The Queen Bee (teehee--that's me). It's 2010 and I have made a commitment (not resolution) to begin to live a happier and better life without sacrificing our bank account. So, with my creativity and bit of elbow grease I will be sharing with you my finds, bargains, and crafts that may even help you to live a fabu-less frugal lifestyle.

I have a small little obsession with organization and de-cluttering so you'll get to find out a bit more about that too. I am not the best cook but am planning to spend a bit more time in the kitchen this year. So, hopefully with your help I can find out some easy cost efficient recipes to share with you.

Please let me know that you stopped by to visit by leaving a comment. I'd love to meet you lovely queenies! Are you a busy (queen) bee and need a creative outlet or some inspiration for fabbing out your hive?! Well, I hope that this blog can help you in some sort of way. Happy New Year.
